UNDERARM AND BIKINI

Shaving, plucking and waxing are the traditional way of removing hair. However, this makes our underarm’s skin prone to friction leading to darkening, chicken skin, ingrown hairs and scarring.

The use of deodorants that are harsh plus the constant rolling of our deodorant sticks contributes to the darkening of our underarm. Is there still hope to be able to raise our underarms confidently? Other treatments that promise results are very costly to maintain.  Skinway brings you basic whitening treatment that are tried and tested over the years and can equal that of expensive treatments.

These procedures are discussed best with our dermatologist.  That includes chemical peeling, microdermabrasion and intense whitening iontophoresis. An average of 3 to 4 sessions are required and can be done every 2 weeks.

PERMANENT HAIR REDUCTION

Unwanted hairs on armpit can be embarrassing. That is why many have tried several methods to remove it, and that had caused the darkening of our underarm. Waxing is one method, either cold or warm, can cause contact dermatitis (reaction of our skin to the chemical being applied).

Intense pulse light “APOLLO” technology is an advanced IPL machine that can be very selective with hair removal. It targets the root of the hair or the hair stem cells responsible for hair growth.  That is why it is a permanent way to reduce unwanted hairs.

Our hair undergoes 3 hair cycles namely: catagen (transition phase), anagen (active or growing phase) and telogen (resting phase). Only those that are on the active or growing phase can be targeted by the treatment. 20 to 30% of the hairs are on the active phase.  That is also the reason why series of sessions are recommended to maximize the results of the treatment.

2 weeks after the treatment session, shedding of the hair can be seen.  Repeat treatment can be done after 3 to 4 weeks. An average of 6 to 8 sessions are required to achieve best results.

EXCESSIVE SWEATING

BOTOX

Hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating may interfere with our normal daily activities. Botox treatment is a nonsurgical procedure use to relax the muscles that help in the production of sweat.

The procedure involves tiny injections to the skin using a small gauge needle. A topical numbing cream is applied 30 minutes prior and an ice pack is applied during the procedure for added comfort. Don’t worry, as our dermatologist had trained here and abroad and is well experienced with Botox injection. A total of 100 units of Botox is needed for both underarm.

Results of the injection can be observed as early as 7 to 14 days, and may last for 6 to 9 months.
